Detective Emmett D. Laughlin

On August 19, 1939, Detective Emmett Laughlin died from injuries he sustained when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was charged with wreckless driving, failure to give the right of way to a police car and negelcting to have proper lights on his vehicle. Two other officers were injured in the collision, but both survived.
