First Deputy Superintendent James Riordan was in a restaurant when he took police action to quell a dis- turbance caused by a patron. As Deputy Riordan was escorting the offender off the premises, the offender drew a revolver and fired several shots. Deputy Riordan was struck and died as a result of his injuries. |
