P.O. Charles Annerino #7936

Officer Charles Annerino was conducting a search for an armed robbery offender who had escaped from Cook County Jail. Officer Annerino and his partner located the wanted offender inside a tavern. Upon confronting the offender, a fierce struggle ensued for control of a revolver. During the struggle, the offender fired two shots at the officer. The courageous officer was fatally struck.
