Reflections
RIP
Walking through the the back hall of 015 and you always being friendly is one thing I will remember. Asking me to come to the 'private' tac office to watch game 7 of the blackhawks playoff seriews will always be in my heart. You were a great officer, coworker, and will never be forgotten!
WE WILL MISS YOU FOREVER CLIFF... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAY 5, MY BROTHER. IN OUR HEARTS AND ON OUR MIND FOREVER.
RIP to my brother I will always miss and love you. Our time together ended way too soon and I would give anything to hear your voice again ;( You were such an amazing man and loved by so many....you were truly a hero! Until we meet again I will cherish the memories and stare at your pictures. I love you big brother!!!!!!
I happened upon this page by accident. I couldnt look at Cliff's picture and not be moved to leave a comment. I did not know Cliff very well. We had only met a few times. His fiancee has been my very best friend/sister for close to 30 years. One thing I can say was that Cliff was one in a billion. From just the few occasions that I have had the pleasure to be in his company he was a really wonderful person. And the fact that we both graduated from Jackson State University endured him to me even more. Most importantly was the way he treated my best friend. That Monday when she came to see me in the hospital after they had gotten engaged, I could see how happy she was, how she just glowed like a star in the sky when talking about the upcoming wedding. Never in a million years did I think that just a few short days later, Cliff would be snatched from her. Thank you everyone for keeping this family in your prayers. My sister is doing well, she has her good and her bad days as should be expected. But know that her faith and relationship with God keeps her going forward.
I met Cliff a few times whilst I was visiting my other friends at the 15th district he was always very friendly and took an interest in my work in England. I am certain the rest of his brothers on the CPD will get those animals that have committed such a cowardly act.
R.I.P brother
I am 53 and a recent widow and mother who lost her only child. I also have lost one parent earlier in life but not as his little baby girl. I am profoundly grief stricken with you. I could not believe one of the holiest of days he was taken from you doing service. To his fiancee', your pain is so great. That little one will remind in the days and years to come how the deep sorrow will exchange itself to warm smiles. Like breathing. Stay close to family. To one Mama, from another. The pain is as Mother Mary saw her son on the cross. I know you and my prayers will keep you. To his family, my prayers that his joy remain in your hearts always you know he wants you to live your llives to the fullest and take of his two girls.
God bless you and your family!!! Sorry you
Had to be taken away from your family.

I was heartbroken to read of this officer's murder. With his engagement a few days before, I can't imagine what his fiance is going through. I pray for his family & his co-workers.
So sad to hear of another brave CPD brother lost! My deepest condolences and heartfelt gratitude for his service to his family and friends. Thoughts are with the entire CPD family at this very tragic time.
My heart flutters for this young hero!! God Bless the family that mourns. Tears are only for a moment, joy comes after, Clifton is now God's hero. To the Lewis family, Clifton will always be my family's hero, he saved my nephew from the streets, by embracing my brother with words of advice about his teen-age son and the streets. Chicago has lost a true Soldier.
To the family of Cliff, may the love of God comfort you during your time of bereavement and you will be in my prayers today and always.

My sincere sympathy to Clifton and his Family & Friends at this time. I sometimes wonder why I was one of the "Lucky" ones, who lived to talk about being shot. I thank God every day for the second chance at life that I was granted. I am still on the job, and I love what I do for a living, however, it has cost me dearly. Take care, and we will always remember.
My heart goes out to Officer Lewis' family, friends, and fellow officers. We cannot allow his service and sacrifice to be forgotten. I will keep all of those who knew and loved him lifted in prayer. Brother Officer Lewis REST IN PEACE.
May God bring peace and comfort to the Lewis family, relatives, friends and anyone who knew Clifton. Rest in Peace my brother in Blue.
I am so sorry for the loss of this obviously much-loved police officer. My heart, prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Clifton Lewis. There is no reason why this had to happen, but for the actions of someone who was thoughtless and uncaring for his fellow human beings. May the soul of Clifton rest in peace until he is reunited one day with his loved ones.
Officer Lewis is a great example Black, White, and all other races can and should aspire to; honor your responsibilities, take care of your children, work to make those dreams come true, and never give up on thos dreams. The fact the lousy thugs can take a life like this is a travesty and the community should stop at nothing to capture these criminals and show that justice will prevail.
God bless his family he leaves behind only in body not in spirit.
God's peace and speed Officer Lewis. Thank you for your brave, dedicated service. RIP brother.
We are so sorry your family has to experience this tragedy. We will keep you in our prayers and pray that the person responsible will be brought to justice and for your family to find peace. Another angel in heaven another guard at the gate. You have our deepest condolences.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Officer Lewis. This is a sad day for Chicago. His life was ended prematurely by someone who does not value the beauty of life. May he rest in peace and always be remembered.
My grandfather was a Chicago police officer killed in the line of duty when my father was young. He was taken from his loving family, just as you were, and I cannot imagine the heartbreak your new fiance or your kids are going through, but I am so sorry that those soulless morons stole you from us. I will continue to pray for you and your family. It sounds like you were a wonderful man and you will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace, and may your family find peace in their hearts. I pray that they catch your killer.
Rest well Hero.
