On November 30, 1952, PO Dennis Collins and his partner were responding to a call at a local hotel when their squad car was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of 64th Street and Kenwood Avenue. Collins suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. On July 3, 1953, PO Collins suffered a fatal heart attack which was linked to the injuries he sustained in the accident seven months prior. |
