Officer Edward McGuire responded to the scene of an intoxicated man armed with an automatic pistol and threatening citizens. As Officer McGuire confronted the gunman and attempted to place him under arrest, the offender opened fire. During the exchange of gunfire, Officer McGuire was fatally wounded. |
