Officer James Caplis observed five offenders enter a nightclub, armed with shotguns and announce a robbery. As one of the offenders attempted to escape, Office Caplis pursued him. While pursuing the of- fender, Officer Caplis was shot in the back by a shotgun blast fired by a second offender. The brave officer died as a result of his injuries. |
