P.O. John Collins #11835

Officer John Collins was shot while off-duty and Christmas shopping with his wife and young son. As the family returned to the parking lot, Officer Collins observed a thief tampering with his car. After Officer Collins identified himself as a police officer, the offender pulled out a gun and grabbed the officer's wife as a shield. When the offender released the officer's wife and fled, Officer Collins gave chase. Officer Collins suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died two days later.
