Reflections
Hi my Johnny! I miss you terribly and daily. I love your Little Laura and your children. They are true blessings in my life and on this earth. You must be so proud. Forever and Always your little sis, Lori
I did not know John, but his Dad Richard was my beat partner in Florida and on occasion would speak of John.
Richard was a former Chicago Cop and a great partner and friend. I miss him still, he taught me so much.
I am writing this to honor John's memory and to remind others that no officer is forgotten.

What's up Pops?!? This is new on this site I guess...the ability to leave reflections. Over 20 years, can't believe it, this will be the 3rd time I take part in this event, Alisa and I both ran it the last 2 years, the years before that I was in Iraq and training, as i'm sure you're well aware. This year, i'm only going to be able to walk because I hurt my knees pretty bad during the marathon, I haven't been able to run very much since without excruciating pain, I'm going to run next year for sure, that is a guarantee. Love you and miss you, as always. Have fun watching us all! -- Joey Mathews - Son 03/1/09 ****************
Hi Dad, I did the run to remember a couple days ago, I didn’t really run as much as I tried to pick up signs and other stuff along the route, but it was fun anyways, Alisa was there, you would absolutely LOVE her, everyone in our family does. I wish you could meet her; she is the best part of my life outside of my family. I know you can see her and know who she is; I just wish she could meet you. 20 years is a long time....oh well, that just means less time until I finally get to see you...Take it easy dad! --Sgt Joey Mathews USMC 5/5/2008
John, We still miss you as much as ever. I can't believe it will be 20 years this May. You are my hero and I love you still. --Laura 01/23/2008
Hi John, it will be 20 years since you were taken from us.I miss you terribly and wish you could be here with Laura, the kids & us. You must be so proud of Annie, Joey & Johnny. They are the best kids. I Love You!!! --Susan Hankosky (Mathews) 01/09/2008
