P.O. John Skopek #6614

Officer John Skopek and his partner, Officer Elmer Ostling, observed three men in a stolen car. After a short chase, the officers curbed the vehicle. As the dedicated officers exited their vehicle, they were struck by numerous bullets fired by the offenders. Officer Skopek was struck several times. Both Officer Skopek and his partner, Officer Elmer Ostling, were fatally wounded in the incident.
