Officer LaVaughn White was walking past a tavern when he was summoned inside by the tavern owner. Inside, five armed men were committing a robbery. The offenders had seen Officer White through the window and ordered the tavern owner to call him inside. As the officer entered, a heated gun battle ensued. The brave officer wounded one of the robbers, but sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the exchange. |
