Officer Patrick Redmond was assigned to guard a payroll exchange. At this time, four offenders entered and announced a robbery. Two of the offenders were armed with shotguns. As Officer Redmond confronted the gunmen to place them under arrest, one offender fired. The courageous officer was struck by the shotgun blast and died. |
