Officer Roger Van Schaik and his partner were returning to their police vehicle when a motorist traveling in the opposite direction stopped along side them. Without any warning, the offender began firing at the officers. Officer Van Schaik and his partner, Officer William P. Bosak, were fatally wounded in the tragic incident. |
