Officer William Y. Bell, while off-duty, discovered several police officers involved in the pursuit of a robbery offender. Officer Bell immediately assisted in the pursuit. Eventually, the offender hid in a building and began firing at the officers. A fierce gun battle ensued, in which the brave officer was fatally wounded. |
