While working special employment for Public Housing North, Officer William Morrison, Jr., learned of a man with a shotgun in the area. Accompanied by other officers, Morrison re- sponded to the scene. Suddenly, his police vehicle was struck broadside by a vehicle traveling at high speed. The violent impact resulted in the brave officer's death. |
Reflections
Bill was the school officer at Sullivan High School in 1974-78 as I was a student there. I always looked up to him and asked his advice about becoming a Police Officer. I lost touch with him after I graduated from Sullivan. It wasn't til I came to the 16th dist. in 2001 that I learned of Bill's death. I thought he was a great guy and a good roll model. -- P.O.
