While on his way home after completing his tour of duty, Officer William Murphy observed an armed robbery in progress inside a liquor store. As Officer Murphy entered and attempted to make the arrest, an intense gun battle ensued. Officer Murphy suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was severely beaten. The courageous officer died as a result of his injuries. |
