Sergeant Arthur Vollmar, while on motorcycle patrol, was flagged down by a citizen who stated that he had just been robbed. The victim identified the offender as he fled the scene. As Sergeant Vollmar pursued, the offender displayed a revolver and fired. The courageous sergeant was struck and died as a result of his injuries. |
