Sergeant Gerald Doll observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Sergeant Doll attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled. Moments later, the speeding vehicle stopped. As Sergeant Doll approached the vehicle, the driver produced a sawed- off shotgun, pointed it, and fired at the unsuspecting policeman. Sergeant Doll was fatally wounded in the attack. |
