Sergeant Patrick Costello died as a result of a fatal skull fracture while on duty as traffic supervisor. Sergeant Costello just left the intersection of Halsted and Roosevelt and attempted to jump on a westbound Roosevelt Road trolley; lost his grip and fell to the pavement suffering the fatal blow. He was transported to Alexian Brothers Hospital where he died from his injury. |
