Sergeant Richard Davenport was alerted to an attempted auto theft and responded immediately. Sergeant Davenport confronted the five offenders and attempted to place them under arrest. One of the offenders resisted arrest, drew a revolver and fired. The brave sergeant was shot and killed. |
