Statement from Phil Cline, Executive Director of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Regarding Appointment of Eddie Johnson
The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation congratulates Eddie Johnson on being the next superintendent to lead the men and women of the Chicago Police Department.
We are confident that Superintendent Johnson will deliver strong leadership, develop innovative crime fighting initiatives and work every day to strengthen the relationship between the police officers and those they serve.
We are better equipped to deliver on our mission when top leadership at the Chicago Police Department embraces our efforts. Superintendent Johnson has done that for years. We know that he will continue to be a strong advocate in our efforts to deliver support and financial assistance to the families of Chicago Police officers who have died or have been catastrophically injured in the line of duty.
We wish Superintendent Johnson the best of luck going forward and look forward to working with his administration to support all the hard work the men and women of the Chicago Police Department do every day.
