The 84th Annual Chicago Police Department St. Jude Memorial March will take place Sunday, 1 May 2016. Chicago Police Retirees have been given a special contingent and area to again be represented here as in the past. All retirees are invited and encouraged to attend and participate in this time honored tradition to ‘Honor Our Fallen.’ Retirees will meet and assemble on Museum Campus Drive (road just East of Soldier Field) and Solidarity Drive (a block or two North of the reviewing stand) in preparation for the march. Extended family members and friends are welcome to view the march from the West curb of Museum Campus Drive, along the path of the march. Since retirees are assigned to march at the beginning of the parade within the first seven positions, normally behind the Gold Star family contingent, it is advised to arrive at app. 0700 hrs. The march will progress South on Museum Campus Drive to Waldron Dr. and steps off promptly at 0800 hrs.
Complimentary parking will be provided at lots adjacent to Soldiers Field. Follow the signs and traffic detail that will direct you to the parking.
Note that there will be NO parking or drop-off’s available outside the area of the parking garages. Handicapped individuals are encouraged to use the nearby handicapped provided spaces within the parking facilities.
We ask that you again join your fellow retirees in the oldest and proudest tradition of the Chicago Police Department. Our participation in that ‘Thin Blue Line’ continues to send a message to the Gold Star Family members that the sacrifice of their loved one will always be remembered and we hold true to our dedication and commitment to them that…
