Police Officer Patrick Crowley, 31, was a 10-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the 006 District – Tactical Team whe, on September 13, 1976, Officer Crowley and two additional officers were attempting to make an undercover drug bust. During the investigation, Officer Crowley was fatally wounded by Willie Lewis. He was survived by his parents, and wife, Joanne.
On Thursday, December 18, 2014, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation chartered a bus and traveled with 25 uniformed Chicago police officers to the office of the IL Prisoner Review Board in Springfield to protest the release of inmate Willie Lewis. The inmate’s request for parole was DENIED. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation will NEVER FORGET Officer Patrick Crowley and the ultimate sacrifice he made in service to the citizens of the City of Chicago.
