On Thursday, October 28th, the CPMF chartered a bus and brought 27 uniformed Chicago Police officers to Springfield for Carasquillo's en banc parole hearing. As a show of support for P.O. Loftus, the officers packed the room and listened to the facts of the case presented by the Illinois Prisoner Review Board (IPRB). Following this short presentation, the motion to deny parole was given to the 15 member panel for their votes. The outcome: 13-2, motion to deny parole carries! Then, an unprecedented second motion was given to the board which would prevent inmate Carasquillo from seeking parole for three years instead of his usual annual request. The outcome: 10-5, motion for a three-year set carries!

Thank you to the officers who attended this hearing. You saw firsthand why it's so important to support our fallen and send the message to the IPRB that we will never forget!
