The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is a not-for- profit organization established in 2004 dedicated to honoring the lives of our fallen heroes. The Foundation provides support and assistance to the families of Chicago Police Officers that have been killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty. To date over 533 names adorn our Memorial Wall at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park which lies due east of Soldier Field.

Low Fundraising Minimums
Team CPD offers the same amenities that larger charities do, only our fundraising minimums are lower. TEAM CPD asks each runner to commit to a MINIMUM of $350.00 due by October 1, 2009. (Runners that obtain entries through TEAM CPD post-close of open registration for the marathon MUST FUNDRAISE a minimum of $700.00)

Train with CARA
TEAM CPD is partnered with the Chicago Area Runner’s Association. If you reach a $500 fundraising minimum, you will receive FREE CARA membership and marathon training. Cara has many pace groups to accommodate any level athlete, including extensive run/walk training programs.(This benefit price point is not available to persons who obtain an entry from TEAM CPD after the close of open marathon registration)
Run in Memory of
Our 2009 Team members will be asked to run in memory of a Fallen Officer, from any Police Department worldwide. Resources to research fallen officers will be provided.
Pre-Marathon Team Dinner
We will have a team dinner the week of the marathon. Past locations have included Tufano’s and catering at the Chicago Police Academy
RACE DAY
VIP access to the TEAM CPD tent in Charity Village.Private port-a-johns, gear check, changing areas, pre-race food and beverages. Post-race hot BBQ’d food, cold beverages, post-race masseuses, DJ Kevin Kelly (with Disco Ball) and more!
Friends and Family are welcome to the post-race celebration, so there are no reunite worries among the million spectators.
KICKOFF EVENT
TEAM CPD will kick off the Marathon training season in June with a fun run and social at CLARKE’S on Lincoln Ave. (Date TBA)
How Do I REGISTER?
ALL TEAM CPD RUNNERS MUST REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY FOR THE BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON at http://www.chicagomarathon.com
If you join TEAM CPD for Both the Rock N Roll 1/2 and the Bank of America Chicago Marathon you are only required to fundraise a Total of $450!*
* this minimum applies only to participants who registered for each event on their own during open registration, not those who obtained a charity entry through Team CPD
