|Incident Details:||Police Officer Charles C.P. Larsen, 31, was an 18-month veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the 33rd Precinct.
On May 11, 1917, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Officer Larsen spotted two men attempting to force open a basement door in the 1400 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. A gun battle ensued and the officer and one of the offenders was shot. Officer Larson was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on May 13.
Officer Larson was laid to rest in Mount Olive Cemetery.
