|Incident Details:||Police Officer Donald Schodrof, 32, was a 4-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the Motorcycle Division.
On January 18, 1947, Officer Schodroff was in pursuit of a speeding vehicle when he swerved into a parked car to avoid striking a vehicle that had accidently cut him off. Officer Schodrof was transported to a local hospital where he died the next day.
The driver was charged with reckless driving.
He is survived by his wife and six children.
