|Incident Details:||Police Officer Edward Mulvihill, 39, was assigned to the 21st Precinct.
On December 18, 1916, Officer Mulvihil responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the 1000 block of Vernon Park Place. Louis Doveno was threatening to burn and murder the woman who was living in the house, if she did not marry him. Doveno opened fire and fatally wounded Officer Mulvihil.
Officer Mulvihill funeral mass was held at St. Finbarr Church and he was laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery. He was survived by his wife and two sons, Jeremiah and Edward Jr.
