|Incident Details:||Police Officer Edward Healy, 35, was assigned to the Hudson Avenue Station.
On September 9, 1937, Officer Healy died after appendectomy surgery at Swedish Covenant Hospital. The officer’s surgery was complicated due to injuries he sustained on August 12, 1937, while in pursuit of a burglary suspect.
Officer Healy’s funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church and he was laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Esther; and his children, Geraldine, Richard, Bernadine, Barbara, and Joyce.
