Police Officer Edwin Halloran, 37, was assigned to the Sheffield Avenue Station.
On December 26, 1926, Officer Halloran was injured while cranking a police flivver. The officer’s arm bruised and blood poisoning developed. He was taken to St. Mary Hospital in January where his arm was amputated. Tragically, Officer Halloran developed septicemia and died on January 14, 1927.
Officer Halloran’s funeral mass was held at St. Sebastian’s Church and he was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, Irene; children, Mary, Florence, and Edwina; and his mother, Mary.
