|Incident Details:||Police Officer Frank Blazek, 29, was assigned to the Wabash Avenue Station.
On April 29, 1926, Officer Blazek arrested Joe Crown. As Officer Blazek attempted to transport Crown to the station, the offender disarmed and shot him. A civilian reported the incident to police and responding officers arrested Crown. Officer Blazek succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Joe Crown was sentenced to life in prison.
Officer Blazek was laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
