|Incident Details:||Police Officer Frederick Schmitz, 42, was assigned to the South Clark Street Station.On November 9, 1925, Officer Schmitz was inside of his home when a bomb placed at his window exploded. Officer Schmitz died at his home.It is believed the bomb was intended for Schmitz's next door neighboor, Captain Ira McDowell. The offender was never apprehended.
Officer Schmitz was buried in St. Boniface Cemetery. He was survived by his wife and three children.
