|Incident Details:||Police Officer Harry Olsen, 30, was assigned to the Motorcycle Division.
On February 8, 1930, Officer Olsen was riding his police motorcycle on Lake Shore Drive when he spotted a speeding vehicle. The officer was in pursuit of the vehicle when his motorcycle and sidecar struck a pothole causing him to lose control. Officer Olsen was thrown into a passing vehicle and fatally injured. He was transported to Columbus Hospital where he died shortly after arriving.
Officer Olsen was laid to rest in Mount Olive Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, parents, and siblings. He was a WWII veteran.
