||Police Officer James Days, 52, was a 17-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the 021 District. On November 10, 1978, Officer Days and his partner observed several men behaving erratically in a suspected stolen vehicle near the intersection of 51st Street and Dorchester Avenue. The officers alerted the communication operations section and pursued the men on foot. When assisting officers arrived at the scene, they found Officer Days unconscious; he had suffered a fatal heart attack. Officer Days was transported to Billings Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Prince Willis, 19, was arrested and charged with auto theft.
