||Police Officer Michael Lukaszewski, 24, was assigned to the 015 District. On June 30, 1957, Officer Lukaszewski was transporting prisoner Lavern Jamieson into his cell on the 11th floor of Chicago Police Headquarters when the inmate snatched his gun. Jamieson fired one fatal to shot to Officer Lukaszewski and then shot his partner, Officer Anthony Concialdi. Officer Concialdi was able to return fire and fatally shoot Jamieson, 30. Officer Lukaszewski was rushed to Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officer Lukaszewski’s funeral mass was held at Precious Blood Church and he was laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, Judith; mother, Frances; and his brother, Joseph.
