||Police Officer Raymond Johnson, 30, was assigned to the Grand Crossing Station. On May 14, 1957, Officer Johnson was riding his three-wheel motorcycle when he was struck by a vehicle that failed to yield the right of way at 75th Street and Merrill Avenue. Officer Johnson succumbed to his injuries at South Shore Hospital on May 15, 1957. The driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way. Officer Johnson’s funeral mass was held at St. Albie’s Church. He was survived by his wife, Patricia.
