||Police Officer Samuel Lynch, 46, was a 12-year-veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the Motorcycle Division. On November 13, 1969, Officer Samuel Lynch was found near Polk and Clark Streets lying beside his overturned three-wheel police motorcycle. According to police, the officer appeared to have been the victim of a hit-and-run. Officer Lynch died shortly after being transported to a local hospital. The hit-and-run driver was never apprehended. He is survived by his wife, Astor, and his children.
