|Incident Details:||Police Officer Thomas Clark, 27, was assigned to the Maxwell Street Station.
On May 10, 1922, Officer Clark was patrolling the area near the Henneberry Printing Company at 22ndand Jefferson Streets. The factory that contained the company was the location of labor disputes. A car containing three men drove onto the property and began breaking windows. Officer Clark approached the vehicle and was able to stop the incident. Later in the evening the officer saw the same vehicle close to the location. As the officer approached the vehicle he was fatally wounded. Officer Clark died at the scene.
Officer Clark’s funeral mass was held at St. Malachy’s Church and he was laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
