|Incident Details:||Sergeant Edward Breen, 54, was a 30-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, assigned to the Brighton Park Station.
On July 10, 1954, Sergeant Edward Breen was involved in a fatal auto collision while in a possible pursuit of a vehicle. The sergeant was found unconscious after hitting a metal poll on Pershing road and Hermitage Avenue. He succumbed to his injuries at Southtown Hospital on July 11.
Sergeant Breen’s funeral mass was held at St. Clare de Montefalco Church and he was laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Ann.
