|Incident Details:||Police Officer James Baggott, 51, was assigned to the Warren Avenue Station.
On June 7, 1925, Officer Baggott was approached by a man seeking protection from him at Western Avenue and Walnut Street. The man reported to the officer that George Galloway had attempted to shoot him, but missed. Tragically, as the officer spoke to the victim, Galloway opened fire and wounded the officer. As Officer Baggott collapsed, he fired four shots at Galloway, killing him. Officer Baggott succumbed to his injuries at Washington Park Hospital.
